Dr. Richard La Nauze

Dr Richard La Nauze is a gastroenterologist with a special interest the management of inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), advanced therapeutic techniques in endoscopy and also sees patients with general gastroenterology and hepatology issues including iron deficiency anaemia, gastrointestinal bleeding, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, pancreatic and liver disease. After graduating from Melbourne University in 2001 he completed his physician training through Royal Melbourne Hospital.    He was a Gastroenterology trainee at Frankston and Alfred Hospitals before completing his Fellowships in advanced endoscopy at The Alfred Hospital for two years (learning polypectomy and balloon enteroscopy) and in London at St Mark’s Hospital, a specialist hospital for gastroenterological and colorectal diseases, undertaking further training in large polypectomy, endoscopic and medical management of inflammatory bowel diseases and polyposis syndromes. Dr La Nauze is permanently located on the Mornington Peninsula with his wife and young family. He is committed to providing quality endoscopy and participates in national colonoscopy training initiatives through the Gastroenterology Society of Australia.

Dr. Abha Kaul

Dr Abha Kaul is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist with special expertise in the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). She completed advanced training in Gastroenterology across leading centres in Brisbane and Melbourne, followed by a dedicated IBD fellowship at the prestigious Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she received extensive training in managing complex IBD cases. Dr Kaul performs intestinal ultrasound at Frankston Hospital and is an active member of the International Bowel Ultrasound Society (IBUS). In addition to IBD, she manages a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions, including iron deficiency anaemia, liver disease, coeliac disease, reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, and provides bowel cancer screening services. Her approach to care is patient-centred, with a strong focus on tailoring treatment to individual needs. Dr Kaul is the clinical lead of the IBD service at Peninsula Health, overseeing the care of over 500 patients with complex IBD in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of doctors, surgeons, specialist nurses, pharmacists, and dietitians. She is also actively involved in research and education. Dr Kaul has published widely in national and international journals, presented at numerous conferences, and contributed chapters to the Oxford Handbook of Medicine. She is a regular guest speaker at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia’s annual meetings. She attends national and international conferences regularly to keep abreast of latest research and guidelines. Through her public hospital role, Dr Kaul supervises advanced trainees in Gastroenterology and enjoys mentoring junior doctors. She also serves as an examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Ms Jenna Riley

I am the director and founder of Peninsula Dietetic Services. I have been working as a dietitian for over 15 years with most of these spent in the public hospital setting. I have developed a strong clinical background and passion in the area of gastrointestinal nutrition and am thrilled to be able to offer my knowledge and support to clients on the Mornington Peninsula. I am passionate about helping people improve their quality of life and better manage chronic disease or disability through optimising their nutrition. I have a sound knowledge of enteral feeding and have strong links to a team of experts including GPs, nurses and gastroenterologists – all of whom are important for anyone living with a feeding tube to ensure they receive the holistic care they need. Whether your goals are around improving your symptoms, weight management or helping you to better manage your health through diet – I am here to educate, support and guide you every step of the way.

Ms Alice

I have been working as a clinical dietitian for over 15 years. I have predominantly worked within the public hospital setting, specialising in gastrointestinal and surgical nutrition, as well as working within the ICU. I am experienced in managing clients who require enteral feeding and dedicated to providing holistic patient care to those living with a feeding tube. I am able to change PEG tubes at home, making it easier for clients to access this service in a timely manner and a relaxed environment. I am passionate about providing nutrition education and support to clients with a range of gastrointestinal disorders including Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Liver Disease, IBS, Pancreatic conditions, Diverticulitis, Pre and post surgery and Stoma management.
